GOOD NEWS for Non-Resident Archery Hunters

On June 7, 2005 the Illinois Governor approved House Bill 1074 and signed it into law. It became Public Act 94-0010. To read more on the act visit the general assembly website at http://www. ilga.gov/.

The law states that “The Department shall not limit the number of non- resident either sex archery deer hunting permits to less than 20,000.". This is great news since the 2003 hunting season only allowed for 12,500 permits and the 2004 season only allowed for 15,000 permits.

The law also limited the amount that the Illinois Department of Natural Resources could raise the price of the tags. For this fall, the 2005 hunting season, the archery tags will be no more than $ 325.00 and the non-resident gun tags $300.00.

The DNR has not yet determined how the tags will be purchased. Check back to http://www.skilletforkoutfitters.com for the latest updates on this issue.
